Herbal Tease

Now available once again: the first lightly scented bar from the Organic Dynamic! Back after popular demand, this gently spiced soap is back for a limited time. Rather than infusing soap with pungent essential oils, the Herbal Tease profile is created with a combination of powdered ginger, cinnamon and turmeric. Coupled with a touch of the dark spice of star anise and a sprinkle of black pepper, this bar is perfectly balanced and ready to cleanse all types of skin.

This recipe was our first soap bar crafted with local honey in the formula. Honey has been revered for centuries for its sweet flavor, but is far more prized in our modern age, for its natural antimicrobial effects. In vitro and clinical studies have already confirmed the broad-spectrum antimicrobial (antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and antimycobacterial) properties of honey, making it a lovely addition to any skincare product. Star anise has a very strong, distinct flavor that is warm, sweet, and spicy, similar to fennel seed and clove. As a potent spice or oil, it is often used in recipes for old-world licorice candy, pizzelle pastries, as well as countless spiced broths and teas. This bar includes it as a delicate grounding note to accompany the natural scent of the soap; far less than any flagship bar. If you'd like something stronger, consider those!

Ginger, Turmeric and Cinnamon are all potent plants that have been used in internal homeopathic medicine for thousands of years. As spicy as they are in flavor, their presence in soap is mildly exfoliating, and only lightly fragrant. As an included exfoliant, the powder of black peppercorns also contains the alkaloid terpene Piperine, giving it its signature spice. Less than 1% of the recipe comprises these powders, making this bar safe for use on sensitive skin.

Ingredients: Coconut, hemp seed and avocado oils, shea butter, Tennessee honey, distilled water*, sodium hydroxide*, star anise oil (less than 3%), less than 1% of ground turmeric, grated cinnamon, ground ginger, black pepper powder

All of the Organic Dynamic soaps are made using the same timeless recipe that has kept humanity clean since 2800BC. Soap is made by saponifying oils with alkali, with no waste generated. The alkali is sodium hydroxide, carried in a distilled water solution. The soapmaking process utilizes 100% of this solution, leaving behind only pure, pH-neutral soap, with all natural glycerin retained.
